How does temperature effect vinyl records

I would suggest a bookshelf in a room with a moderate temperature. Would you participate in a fencing match naked? Hopefully, you get my point.

Otherwise, as the needle dulls it will increase in surface area, and the effect is kind of like trying to jam something large into a small hole. As I explained earlier, once the grooves are compromised there is very little you can do to salvage them. If not, you can purchase one online or at local music stores. These brushes are a quick and easy way to remove dust and dirt.

You just hold the brush on the record while spinning it slowly. If you have a record that needs a more thorough cleaning, you can purchase vinyl-cleaning solution. Simply spray the solution onto the record, avoiding the record label, and wipe with a microfiber cloth in a circular motion. Do this every six months to ensure your records continue looking — and more importantly, playing — like brand new.

That means putting your a record away as soon as you are done listening to it. By leaving it on the turntable longer than necessary, you are allowing dust and dirt to accumulate on the records, which can then impact sound quality.

LUCKY RECORDS - Caring For Vinyl Records

Vinyl records need to be stored in an upright position to ensure they stay in good condition. Records that have been stored at a slant for an extended period of time can warp because of the uneven pressure that has been placed on them. This is why records are often kept in crates that position them upright. Crate dividers make sure your records stay evenly upright with little or no slanting. The weight will lead to warping of the vinyl and even possible cracking or scuff marks.

When you go to pick up your record, make sure you do not touch the surface — only the very edge! By touching the surface of the record, you are inadvertently transferring oils from your fingers to the vinyl, and over time, this can greatly affect the quality of the record. Another vinyl faux pas is trying to find a certain song on the record by hand.

DJ Dac PM - 29 April, thanks guys, i wish i could afford cdj's but majority of the time I'm inside so I'm not to worried, i will see what happens with the two cv's like you said there's always internal mode DJ Dac PM - 29 April, well i have some clears and a bunch of the chico's but its hard to take something out that you know your going to trash, even though its like 20 bucks for black ones DJ Dac AM - 30 April, well the place has misters, so i don't think it will be that bad, but i always bring a bag of back up vinyl in case the computer crashes, but as long as they are tightly in there they shouldn't warp at all, last year i got a box of old records from a buddy, all awesome 80's stuff that has been sitting out in a garage in AZ for the past 20 years and only the one on the end was warped at all.

I appreciate your comments on avoiding exposing the records to the sunlight or to extreme heat and as to storage. I keep all my records 2, strong indoors in a cool closets in my home.

I am pretty sure black vinyl would have warped but, then again. Taipanic PM - 16 June, I've had records warp while playing - in the shade in the upper 80's. Those are the gigs you bring controllers to - and make sure you keep a fan on your equipment also. The Return of Dj Sparky PM - 16 June, As mentioned there are a lot of factors, if you have coloured vinyl bring them as black attracts heat, Stay out of direct sunlight and if you have other vinyl rotate them to try avoid warping. It's actually all they had and I had to spin the night i bought them years ago. I rarely use the Shibuya breaks other than to scratch now but my white Traktor vinyl had no problem yesterday either. Now, you guys need to stop being sneaker heads about these so-called' limited pressings of Serato vinyl.
